Gerry O'Brien has completed Level 5 & 6 in Sculpture and Combined Media and Level 8 BA (Hons) in Fine Art. Between 2015 - 2020 Gerard was teaching part - time Art Classes for the elderly in The Mcauley Day Care Center, Oldcastle Road, Kells and Christ the King, Day Care Center, Cabra, Dublin. He was also working as a Art & Craft Teacher with people with disabilities until he retired in 2021. Gerard's work was selected as a part of winter show at Solstice Arts between November - December 2021.
The main focus in Gerard's practice is expressing his first - hand experience on how older people are treated and seen by wider society.
At Flea Studio, Gerry will work on implementation of his beautiful drawings on fabric and t-shirts.
